About us

Helping people fix small things safely

Most home problems are small: a dripping tap, a door that won't latch, a toilet that won't stop running. Fixing them yourself saves money and feels great, but only if you know it's safe.

Why we built Fixwise

Video tutorials can't see your sink, and they can't tell you when to stop. Calling a professional for every minor issue is expensive and slow. We wanted something in between: a knowledgeable, patient helper who looks at your actual problem, checks it's safe, and talks you through the fix hands-free while you work.

Fixwise combines a careful safety assessment with real-time voice guidance. Before any hands-on step, it makes sure power, water and protective gear are sorted. If a job needs a licensed professional, such as gas, main electrical panels or structural work, we say so clearly rather than coach it as DIY.

What we believe

Safety over completion

A repair left unfinished is better than a person hurt. The assistant stops as soon as something looks dangerous, and it says so plainly.

Calm and patient

One step at a time, in plain language, at your pace. No judgement if you've never held a wrench before.

See before advising

Photos, video and live snapshots mean guidance is based on your actual situation, not a generic tutorial.

Clear, upfront pricing

You see the price before you start, the cost as you go, and the total at the end. And you can delete your data whenever you like.

How safety works

  1. Automatic emergency screening: descriptions mentioning signs like gas smell, sparks or smoke are stopped immediately, before anything else happens.
  2. Safety assessment: your description and photos are rated as DIY-safe, DIY with precautions, needs a professional, or emergency.
  3. Your checklist: you confirm each required precaution before a session can start.
  4. Live safeguards: during the call, the assistant re-verifies critical precautions and can end the session if it sees or hears a hazard.
